Cheap Shifter, May 13, 2011–By S. Perkins |
I ordered this bike for my wife and it’s a good one for the price. It’s sturdy and easy to put together, however the front gear shift broke while I was adjusting it. I’ve ordered a new one and she can ride it in the meantime with just the rear gears, but even those are temperamental until I can adjust the front one. I put on a rear kickstand as the center stand seemed to get in the way a lot. Also, this frame is most suited for a taller female. |

Sturdy, but came with a bent frame part, March 23, 2010–By Josiah Hodgett “theburn” |
This bike appears to be sturdy. Some components look decent, like the Shimano derailleur system, and other components look a little cheaper, like the pedal assembly. We haven’t been able to use it yet, because in the some-assembly-required process, we found that the part of the frame that the rear derailleur mounts to is bent in towards the bike, causing the chain guides to be at an angle. This results in the derailleur coming in to contact with the tire spokes when it is shifted in to the higher gears. ….

Pleasantly happy, January 5, 2012–By Austin Ross “Sparatan117″ |
This was a good looking bike going into this, and an even better one when putting it together for the first time and riding it. The frame feels solid and the components are pre assembled so there’s no super pain when dealing with de-railers. Certain Parts on the breaking system feel slightly cheesy and take a little bit to break in, but once you get it broken in, it works fine. |

not too shabby!, December 30, 2011–By zboyd |
assembly really was not that bad. just have to take your time. hardest part was checking adjustment of the gears and it was just time consuming. shifting was surprisingly smooth.components really do seem of a higher quality. only bad thing-being a hard tail, I could feel every bump in my A$$ the next day, but the experts say the thicker saddles cause chafing. so on with the callus. |

This bike is a hoss!–By ThatOneGuy |
Let me say beforehand that I’ve given this bike five stars because it is a fantastic value FOR THE PRICE. Remember, normally, the more you spend, the better the bike. With that in mind, I have no problem saying that this bike is a champ. The trails I ride on are very rocky, loose, and technical (not to mention full of thorns) which translates to a lot of stress on the tires and sometimes the suspension. So far, it |

Love it but one minor complaint (Still love it though)–By Bryan S. Tyson |
This is a very smooth-riding bike with a look and feel of quality. Its frame is much lighter than a steel bike, making a noticeable improvement in performance. I often load my bike heavily using a rear rack and baskets, so I was specifically looking for a bike with front suspension only. Even with only the front suspension fork, it smooths out bumps nicely… |

Great Bike…Great Price!–By C. Wayne (Florida) |
My wife and I purchased this bike and the “women’s versions” of this bike together as a Christmas gift to one another. First, I am 37 years-old and disabled. I needed a bike that is light, yet strong enough to handle my 250lb + frame. Well, this bike is light due to all the aluminum parts that make up the bike and it is the aluminum that gives the bike it strength as well… |

Great Bike…Great Price!…By C. Wayne (Florida) |
The bike was a breeze to unpack and set up. Once again, I am disabled, I do not have the strength to manipulate cumbersome items… and this truly was not a cumbersome task! One hour tops from UPS Truck to being able to ride it up my street and back. During the easy and very short set up process, I had time to admire the welds and other artisanship details… |

Great bike for kids–By A. Thomas |
This is a great little bike for someone who already knows how to ride a bike. This would not make a good first bike. My son started riding smaller bikes when he was 4 and all of his previous bikes were really cheap but were good for learning. We gave him this one for his 7th birthday and it is really nice… |

BEAUTIFUL BIKE…one problem… NO ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS–By L. Callahan “jersey67″ (NV) |
This bike is absolutely beautiful and my 9 year old is going to love it, I feel confident sending him out on it, it’s beautifully constructed and definitely worth every penny. The reason I give it 3 stars instead of 5 is because it DOESN’T come with assembly instructions. My suggestion to you is to go to a local bike shop (which is what I should have done) and buy on there as opposed to online. When I called the company to ask about assembly, they suggested I take it to a local dealer to put it together. So GO OUT and buy this at a local Diamondback dealer, you’ll be as confident as me putting your kids on it! |

Good Deal–By Shawn Elmer |
Quality bike for the price. Has just about everything you would look for in a mountain bike costing hundreds more. The pedals are plastic and need to be upgraded but overall a nice purchase. It comes about 90% assembled; you need to mount the quick release front tire, seat, handle bars and attach the brake cables; it took about 20 minutes. There are instructions in the owners manual and the tools needed to put it togethe |

Diamondback Sorrento–By Jim (Florida) |
This is my 2nd Mongoose purchased through Amazon and I am pretty happy with my purchase. Here’s my story. The bike arrived in a large box and assembly took approximately 15 minutes. Getting the gears set up took another 20 minutes, but it is pretty much routine. For those who do not work on their own bike and is attempting this for the first time… bring it to a shop… its easier. For those who have worked on their own bike since when… yeah… 20 minutes, so take that money and get something cold (wink wink) to drink while working on setting up your gears!! |

Outstanding for the price…–By A. Litz (Dallas Area,TX) |
If you want a bike that will take a beating and not cost you a fortune than this is it. Make sure you get the right size frame though. This bike will handle most anything you throw at it, the tires have great traction, the brakes handle well and don’t lock too easily, and shifting gears is as smooth as butter… |
